HEBCO Industrie is the only French manufacturer with a fully integrated production tool using an aluminium brazing technology known as vacuum brazing. This technology, specially adapted for demanding applications, guarantees a high quality of assembly, ensuring high mechanical resistance and durability due to the absence of residual corrosive flow.

The manufacturing process is entirely carried out in-house, including vacuum brazing, thus allowing us to maintain total control of our assemblies:

All the components intended to be brazed are manufactured directly to the ribs: Fins, turbulators, plates, bars and external plates are manufactured according to your plans.

Degreasing and assembly

Degreasing and assembly are key steps in a vacuum brazing process; they remove the oxide layer present on all aluminium and guarantee the cleanliness of the components until they pass through the brazing furnace.

Since the assembly is carried out directly on the coasts, it allows easy integration with the various heat exchangers.

Brazing and quality control

Vacuum brazing is the assembly technology that makes it possible to obtain cores with the most robust joints, without the use of corrosive flux (as opposed to Nocolok type brazing). This process is used in railway, aeronautical, military and power electronics applications. The great flexibility of this type of aluminium brazing allows the manufacture of aluminium cores and/or cold plates of very different dimensions, including in small and medium series.
The principle of vacuum brazing is to assemble the plates and bars using a braze alloy that has a lower melting point than the base metal. After a vacuum draw from the furnace to eliminate any source of contamination and corrosion, the temperature rise curves allow to gradually reach the brazing temperature (580°c/620°c) where the filler metal is drawn by capillary action within the parallel surfaces. The characteristics of aluminium vacuum brazing are:

• uniform heating,
• strict temperature control,
• no rinsing and residues,
• repeatability of the process.

Vacuum brazing is used both for the assembly of the plates and strips as well as for the custom machined cold plates.

Assembly/ customization

The CATALDI SAS site located in Marmande allows HEBCO to complete its services with the creation of complete radiators and to ensure a temperature tightness control at 70°C.
